WORKS
The Cyber and Sovereignty and Digital Sovereignty Chair - IHEDN provides support for research, in particular by funding research projects and working groups, the conclusions of which are intended to be disseminated and promoted in various forms: articles, round tables, webinars, etc.
Working groups
One of the Chair's aims is to set up working groups on topical issues of interest to the French cyber community. Approved by the steering committee, these working groups are led by researchers and experts associated with the Chair, and are made up of one-off contributors, notably from the network of auditors of the Digital Sovereignty & Cybersecurity (SNC) major at the IHEDN National Session. The aim is to produce recommendations that can be the subject of public presentations and may give rise to notes, reports, research projects, theses, etc.
- Open source intelligence (ROSO / OSINT) (created in 2023)
Led by Professor Michel Séjean, This working group began its work in March 2023. It was presented for the first time at a round table organised at the École Militaire on 6 March 2024. The aim is to provide an overview of the law applicable to open source intelligence (OSINT), in order to clarify the legal framework. - The impact of quantum on cybersecurity (created in 2023)
Directed by Ludovic Perret, This working group began its work in December 2023. It is a research associate of the Chair, an expert in post-quantum cryptography and an associate professor at Sorbonne University. It was presented for the first time at a round table organised at the École Militaire on 7 November 2024. The group's objective is to formulate recommendations to encourage a post-quantum industrial policy. The aim is to contribute to the political will to encourage the emergence of a French post-quantum industry that is competitive at global level.
Research project in partnership with Télécom Paris
As part of the Chair's activities, Stefano Zacchiroli (Télécom Paris, Institut Polytechnique de Paris) conducted the’study Determining the geographic origin and gender of public code contributors, on identifying the geographical origin of contributors to free and open source software (Free and open-source software (FOSS) which, according to recent estimates, are present in 96% of software products on the market.
